Andrew's Real Life of Autism

My Year of 2014

2014

I want to talk about my year of 2014.  It was my best year ever!  I got my legs fixed.  It hurt really bad but I had to do it.  Mom was there for me the whole time.  Then in March I got Campbell and it was fantastic!  He was so great right away.  The people at Support Dogs loved me and got me right away.  They taught mom how to work with Campbell to help me.  My best part of my year was finding my voice in April!!!!  My world changed in a second!  God opened my world to others.  How I live is just different from before.  I hoped to go to a Cardinal game and I got to.  It was the best night ever!

High boredom in school this year.  Trying to get the school to believe in me.  Not going well but we are just pointing God to them.  Christmas was the best!  Santa came to our house just like he said he would.  How can I explain how that felt?  Just like he didn’t forget about me.  The most amazing day was when I got baptized!!!  Very much joy in that moment!!!  God was with me that day!  It was God that told me to be His and I am.  It was my best year ever!!!  Very glad God gave this year to me!

Andrew, I love reading your posts. Now that you have found your voice, I can’t wait to see how God will use you and your story to God’s glory. Moses couldn’t speak well and had his brother Aaron speak for him. Yet, God chose Moses to lead his people out of slavery, thru the desert, and into the promised land.

Keep following after God, love Him with all your heart, your mind, and your strength. I pray that he softens the heart of your school workers, but even if he doesn’t answer your prayer in the way you want at first, do not give up, do not lose heart. God has a plan, and sometimes that plan is a desert (either physically, or educationally). But God is with us thru it all, and he promises to make all things work together for the good of those who are called by His name.

Personally, I am going to try and read thru the entire Bible this year. I’d be interested to know your goals for 2015.

    Keep the faith!
    Travis
